New foam gaskets have recently been added to the 2.5 inch ABS JETFilter housing. This brings these filters inline with the larger sizes, the foam gasket proving a better fit and seal on an uneven surface.

Key Features
Our most popular size of JET Filter, available in 5 colours, with Slate grey and Brown the most popular colours used.
Compact Efficiency
Designed with a smaller 2.5” (65mm) diameter for applications requiring space optimization without compromising on performance. Provides 9 litres per minute flow rate.
Durable ABS Material
Constructed from ABS for enhanced durability in challenging environments, resistant to corrosion and impact.
Simple Maintenance
Features an easily removable cartridge to enable quick cleaning and reduce maintenance time.
Cost Effective Solution
Offers long-term value by combining ease of maintenance with reliable performance, reducing overall project costs.
This filter is ideal for use on a variety of structures, including:
- Retaining walls
- Seawalls
- Bulkheads
- Bridge abutments
- Earth-retaining systems in both marine and non-marine environments.
Fixing and Fasteners
The above left stainless steel drill tip hex head screws are typically provided with the 2.5 inch ABS JET Filter. These are aimed at use with plastic or aluminium sheet piling. They aren’t suitable for use with steel piling and as such we provide the BTS Hex head 316 Stainless Ceramic Coated Masonry screws, on thr right top, if the 2.5ABS are to be used with steel piling.
The BTS screws are 316 Stainless steel and whilst considered a masonry/concrete screw are tried and tested over many years and are suitable for steel sheet piling. The ceramic coating on these screws reduces the chance of dielectric corrosion.
Note pilot holes will need to be drilled and these BTS fitting tightened by hand. If site plan to use an impact driver, then if care is not taken, you will strip the threads. Not all sites have issues but some have.
Hex screws have been selected to enable the installer to apply more torque to the screw.
For those sites which cannot hand tighten or use an impact driver without stripping the thread or snapping the Hex head. We can supply (at additional cost) SuperTek Marine 8 Fasteners, which still require a pilot hole, but appear to have a higher strength and drilling capacity in steel.
The JFS2.5ABS features a replaceable and easily accessible filter cartridge, allowing for periodic maintenance without the need to remove the entire unit. This ensures continuous and effective drainage over time
Material Information
The JET Filter is a very innovative, but simple concept. However, it consists of high quality materials.
The geotextile filter weave is from TenCate and is Mirafi® FW300. Mirafi® FW300 geotextile composed of polypropylene yarns, which are woven into a stable network such that the yarns retain their relative position. Mirafi® FW300 geotextile is inert to biological degradation and resists naturally encountered chemicals, alkalis, and acids.
TenCate TM develops and produces materials that function to increase performance, reduce costs and deliver measurable results by working with our customers to provide advanced solutions.
The Difference Mirafi® FW300 engineered geotextiles make:
• Engineered Filtration. Resists clogging while maintaining flow rates in high gradient and dynamic flow conditions.
• Durability. High survivability rating in aggressive installation and loading conditions along with excellent resistance to chemicals in aggressive environments.
• Soil Interaction. Superior soil confinement resulting in greater load distribution.
• Unique Constructions. Manufactured with highly UV stabilised monofilament and multifilament fibres which provide highly uniform opening size (AOS) while maintaining high long-term flow rates. Mirafi® FW Series geotextiles are manufactured with highly specialised processes to produce unique physical and hydraulic properties not possible with standard geotextiles, woven or nonwoven.
So what happened to the 2.5 ASTM Steel and Stainless Steel JETFilters?
For those who have bought from this range for a while now you may have noticed that the 2.5″ Stainless JET Filter and a 2.5″ ASTM marine grade steel JET Filter have disappeared. These have been discontinued as part of the product developments and improvements. Whilst all ASTM Steel filters of all sizes have been discontinued, the 2.5″ stainless has become the 3″ stainless JET Filter.
Note we do still have a small stock of the 2.5″ ASTM version, if this is something you are looking for.
Other products from this range
For those wondering why the 2.5 inch JET Filter in stainless became the 3″ is shown below. The 3″ JET Filter simply has a much longer conical area, which provides a far more effective, lower maintenance option.
It’s face and housing also allows sufficient space to offer the closed ended option, which is extremely popular on costal applications. The check valve permitting water out of the structure, but prevents the ingress of water from surges.
