THE ProLock Omega is one of our flat faced plastic sheet piles, and as such provides a very appealing aesthetic.  Which highlights a fundamental difference to traditional steel sheet piling, that it doesn’t look industrial. 

One of the biggest criticisms of sheet piling is the regular, repeating and deep corrugations.  This is exemplified above with ProLock Omega positioned next to the new Epsilon plastic sheet pile.

AT THE Plastic Piling Company, we can offer you sheet piles that provide a flat panelled appearance.  As such, ProLock Omega, will appeal to those schemes where aesthetics are important.   One area where ProLock has proved appealing is when the flat face serve a function other than aesthetics, for example scour repair at the toe of an embankment, preventing slippage.   Contractors have used the flat face to butt up against the structure.

Plastic sheet piling has improved so much over the past 20 years, none more so than ProLock Omega.  This plastic sheet pile, or vinyl sheet pile if you prefer that term, has had three design reiterations. These are shown below and to the right, with  the photos of my daughter modelling the Omega Mk.ii in 2013 and now Omega Mk.iii in 2023. Where did those years go!

The original ProLock was a two component design, with the main sheet pile open fronted to act like an expansion spring.  The post or tube driven inside and then enclosed by the the second component.   It worked well but the next redesign is really where the product took sheet piling aesthetics to the next level.  ProLock Omega becoming a fully closed sheet pile.  This also made the system more durable as the front section had very little strength.  This design has been extremely popular over the last ten years.  However recently it was stated that it would be a massive improvement if it could handle a larger (more standard size post).  

So, ProLock Omega Mk.iii can now handle up to 160mm round and 130mm square; previously limited to 150mm round.
