THE ESF03 Piling Vibrator
ESF03 Piling Vibrators
THE ESF03 is a small piling vibrator, in fact the worlds smallest piling vibrator. We had it designed so that it would be used in a suspended mode and powered of a separate small petrol 30-40 lpm hydraulic powerpack.
Piling vibrators have been around for a very long time, especially for sheet piling. They are much quieter than impact based options, and in granular mixed soils they are exceptionally fast at installing and extracting sheet piling.
If when operating the piling vibrator, you push (mounted attachment) or lower (suspended), the sheet is driven, if you pull whilst vibrating the sheet is extracted.
Most piling vibrators have two eccentric weights which are geared to spin in opposite directions, or multiples of two. This cancels out the vibration in all axis except the vertical focusing the vibrator force up and down.
The ESF03 only has eccentric weights that rotate in one direction. So from a vibration viewpoint is more similar to a compactor plate type vibrator or post driving vibrator. It will therefore vibrate in all 3 axis, so will not appear as smooth as a double eccentric unit. The lack of gears though do make single eccentric vibrators quieter.
The ESF03 does include a hydraulic clamp, so the sheet piling is gripped. So unlike a compactor plate or post driver, the ESF03 can extract sheets.
Excavator mounting of the ESF03 is possible, as can be seen from the photos. We don’t currently supply this way as we find it quicker and easier to supply it as a suspended unit.
As it was originally designed to be excavator mounted, ballast weights have been added to the suspension bracket to make the suspended option more effective.
The ESF03 is very popular for driving trench sheeting and plastic sheet piling. It weighs 190 kgs with ballast weights, and the powerpack only weighs around 140 kgs, but features handles and rear wheels. So both items are easily handled with small equipment.
